A Conversation with my Teenager
Her (coming in from her second-ever track meet):
Hey Mom, how fast can you run a mile?
Me:
Oh... depends. The fastest I've run one is probably around 8:30. Why?
Her:
I ran the one-mile race in 7:40 tonight. And the half-mile in 3:23.
Me:
That's great! I'm proud of you!!
Me again, under my breath:
You so suck.

I think you need to drag Ms. Full-of-Herself to Salt Lake with you and THEN see how much she boasts :)
Kids these days, huh?!!
Hi Ms Angie,
They are a bit younger. There was 12 and 13 year olds in our half marathon today that beat a whole lot of adults.

It's so hard to be happy and mad all at the same time - until your a parent!
You're progressing so fast I can see you having a 7:40 mile soon!!! She's no where close to your endurance, just have her try a half-marathon ONCE!
I'm getting so excited about our upcoming race...now if I can just control my appetite!
Now, now, now, don't compete with your daughter :) Be happy for her and teach her to be happy for you...
Is this the same daughter who was complaining about having to run 2 non-stop laps just a few weeks ago?
One and the same, Joe. Oh, to be a kid again, huh?
