May I wish every one of you-- family, friends, acquaintances and even strangers accidentally happening by-- a most wonderful Holiday! May the coming year bring peace to the mind, health to the body and happiness to the soul. (And, of course, miles and miles to the legs.)
Thank you to all of you who have enriched my life in so many ways this past year. I am a better person having known you.
And a Merry Christmas to all of you! Thanks for sharing the pictures of your family!
Santa came last night at my wife's sister's house. We had about 30 people for dinner (including your cousins) and then we walked down the street to Diane's house for our traditional Christmas eve visit from Santa.
So far, I'm the only one up, so I'm off for an hour run, and we'll open family gifts when I return.
Later today, my daughter will be up from Provo with all of her in-laws from Virginia, California, Salt Lake, and elsewhere for our traditional Christmas dinner at our house.
Wife of one husband, mother of two children, sister, daughter, friend, neighbor and wannabe runner extraordinnaire.
Picture this: Six feet of girl lumbering down the road... heart pumping, lungs heaving, long limbs flailing everywhere. I wasn't exactly built to run and it's not a pretty sight when I do. Yet, I can't seem to be convinced NOT to run and after logging thousands of miles (including a few little 26.2 mile jaunts around the block), I've decided it must be something worth writing about. Here's a recap of my many running adventures: the exciting, the dull and the just plain bizarre.
"It's unnatural for people to run around the city streets unless they are thieves or victims. It makes people nervous to see someone running. I know that when I see someone running on my street, my instincts tell me to let the dog go after him."
~Mike Royko
